However I went again in and chosen the file first after which modified the setting, then converted, and it worked nice. A 50MB flac file took about 12 seconds to transform on my 2012 Mac Pro. It solely used on of my 12 cores as far as I could tell. Have not tried batch changing, however others have mentioned it works with no drawback and I've no purpose to doubt that.
